Police chief opens door for communication21 October 2005
ANNOUNCED AT MEETING: Bismarck Police Chief Deborah Ness believes that communicating is a key to understanding in matters of discrimination. That's why she recommended the creation of a sub-committee on law enforcement issues to report to the Bismarck Human Relations Committee.
The group can "work on resolving law enforcement issues," she said. "I will assign several people from the police department staff to set up and serve on the committee." The chief announced the recommendation at the October 20 Bismarck Town Hall Meeting. She said the goal is to identify and define problems and develop and implement solutions that would be recommended to the Human Relations Committee. UTN photo Dennis J. Neumann
