Hall to head United Tribes board12 October 2005
BISMARCK (UTN) - Tex G. Hall, chairman of the Mandan-Hidatsa-Arikara Nation, is the new chair of the United Tribes of North Dakota board of directors.
Hall was elected October 10 to succeed Charles W. Murphy, outgoing chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. Murphy had served on the United Tribes board as chair for seven years.
United Tribes is the governing board of United Tribes Technical College. Members include the chairperson and one other elected councilperson from each of the five tribes located wholly, or in part, in North Dakota: Mandan-Hidatsa-Arikara Nation, Spirit Lake Tribe, Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, and Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa.
James "J. C." Crawford, Sisseton-Wahpeton Chairman, was elected vice-chair of the board. Ken W. Davis, Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Chairman, was elected secretary-treasurer.
