Senator Kent Conrad

North Dakota U. S. Senator Kent Conrad appeared at the United Tribes "Healthy Beginnings" Wellness Fair October 4 to promote better health care among Native Americans. "With today's fair, United Tribes Technical College is leading the way to ensure healthy living and healthy choices," said Conrad in a talk to students and staff at the Jack Barden Student Life and Technology Center. From his position on the Senate Indian Affairs committee, Conrad has promoted tribal health care initiatives, including a program called "Sacred Breath," that allows doctors to use the Internet to monitor daily blood tests of diabetics in remote locations on Indian reservations.
