Staying cuffed together without bloodshed for the entire day of orientation, Nelson Ute
(Wind River) at left, and Ramona Saragosa (Turtle Mountian) each won gift certificates
to Famous Dave's Restaurant.

New student Tracie Packineau (Three Affiliated) at right, signs in at orientation. Others
from right to left, student Jennifer Snider (Standing Rock), and student ambassadors Jackie
Cadotte (Standing Rock), and Celeste Phelps, Bismarck.

With their prizes of DVD/CD players, winners of the student horseshoe tournament were Muriel
Long Feather and Joel Fish.

UTTC President David M. Gipp welcomed new students at orientation and cautioned that, "people who don't make it through are those who don't go to class."

More than 120 new students packed into the lower level of the Jack Barden Student Life
and Technology Center for orientation acitivites.

Orientation was coordinated by Karen Siegfried of the Center for Student Success.

Kameran Ali and the group "Funky Arabs" brought a following of local fans to campus for the music jam.

Robert Bear (Caddo) won the grand prize drawing for a DVD player.

Juanita Arellano (Three Affiliated) listened intently to a department presentation at the vocational and campus services fair in the large gym.

Steven P. Walker of the group "Nerve Impulse," axed some tunes on lead guitar during the "Culture Shock" music jam.
