'Parade of Champions' set for September 1125 August 2010
BISMARCK (UTN) - Entries are invited for the United Tribes “Parade of Champions,” scheduled for Saturday, September 11 in downtown Bismarck.
The event features American Indian culture from those attending the United Tribes International Powwow and participation is welcomed from groups and individuals in the community and around the region.

Entry forms are available from Michelle Fox, parade coordinator, 701-255-3285 x 1355, or mfox@uttc.edu. The fee is $35. Entries that wish to be judged are an additional $15.
Cash awards are offered in four judged categories: Best Horse Group; Best Dance Group; Best Youth/Cultural Entry; and Best Overall Theme Entry. The theme is: “Protecting Our Culture.”
Staging begins at 8 a.m. at the State Capitol grounds with the start scheduled for 9:30. The route is from Boulevard Avenue south on Sixth Street to Avenue C, west one block to Fifth Street, and south on Fifth Street through downtown to Kirkwood Mall, where participants disperse in the parking lot.
The international powwow begins September 9 on the campus of United Tribes Technical College. It attracts over 10,000 visitors to the community for the weekend and is recognized as one of the premier cultural events in North Dakota.
