Campus Safety
Be open with your landlord. It’s in both your landlord’s and your best interest if you keep communication lines open. On your side, you will be able to address maintenance and financial concerns. On the landlord’s side, the due diligence of the tenant can help in addressing delays or glitches in administration and upkeep. Always be civil, and avoid legal confrontations as much as possible.
Assure housing is readily available for you by the time you graduate to prevent homelessness. Instead, you can go into the workforce with confidence and security!
A letter will be hand delivered by the Housing Staff. The amount of time granted to you to move out depends on the reason UTTC has requested you to vacate; normally it is a maximum of seven (7) days at the first date of non-student status.
The tenant’s account will be billed the day following the move out inspection for the following;
- Remaining UTTC debt not just rent
- Tenant damage
- Furniture including personal property remaining in the unit
- Unreturned keys
- Unclean unit
The tenant’s account shall not be billed following move out inspection for any of the following if the responsibilities below have been performed:
- Absolutely, no debt shall remain at UTTC which includes all UTTC charges not just rent.
- No Tenant Damage
- Returned Keys at the time of the move out inspection
- Cleaned housing unit
- UTTC furniture all remaining in the unit
- Personal furniture and property removed from the unit by the date and time of the move out inspection
This means your account will not be billed at move out time.
Students who leave with any of these fees will have them deducted from their security deposit. If their fees are as much as the security deposit, the student will not receive any refund.
If a student has only a portion of these fees, the student will receive the remaining balance of the security deposit.
If their fees exceed the security deposit, the student will be billed to their student account and will be sent to our collection agency.
Note: Tenants interested in knowing their move out inspection status may reach our office at (701) 255-3285 ext. 1415.
